Frequently asked questions about A1/A2 assessments
Technical assessment is the core service. Property inspection and site supervision are distinct complementary services.
What does A1 cover?
A1 concerns mechanical resistance and stability for the categories of construction set out in the certification procedure, with concrete, reinforced-concrete, masonry and timber structural systems.
What does A2 cover?
A2 concerns mechanical resistance and stability for the categories of construction set out in the certification procedure, with steel, timber and other composite structural systems.
What work can be assessed?
Alterations, extensions, additional storeys, strengthening, rehabilitation, changes of use, demolition and completed work may be assessed where the purpose falls within the applicable A1/A2 field.
Can cracks or deterioration be assessed?
Yes. Cause and severity are determined from documents, an on-site review and any measurements or investigations required.
Can conclusions be based only on photographs?
Photographs support initial review. Technical conclusions may require a visit, documents, measurements and investigations.
What document will I receive?
The technical assessment report, technical note or other deliverable is stated in the accepted quotation according to the purpose and applicable requirements.
What should I send on WhatsApp?

Do you also provide inspections or site supervision?
Yes, as distinct complementary services. Scope, limitations and fees are agreed separately.
